My response to prompt  #226, Hototogisu (little or English cuckoo) for the Carpe Diem June 2013 prompts, which are centered around traditional “kigo” or “season words” for summer.  Hototogisu (little or English cuckoo) is a midsummer kigo.

June on Carpe Diem has been divided into three different seasons of traditional summer kigo: Early Summer, Mid Summer and Late Summer. The informative prompt and responses to this prompt can be found on the Carpe Diem Blog.

You are invited to respond to these prompts as well.

Have fun. Explore haiku. Aloha—Rick

  1. aloha and thank you Phyllis. i’m delighted that this work connects in this Core way with you. as a creator i find it pleasing when a work can leave the place where it was created and stand on it’s own in the world. thank you for allowing me to see this work in a life it is able to create in this way. i like seeing it here a lot. fun. aloha—Rick.
